About Need Ears

Need Ears is an open place where music producers post unfinished tracks and other producers leave comments at the exact second where something could be better.

"Vocal gets buried at 1:42." "Love the drop here." "Is that hi-hat a bit loud at 2:10?" That kind of feedback, pinned to the waveform, where it belongs.

Why it exists

When you've heard your own track 400 times, you stop hearing it. You need fresh ears, and comments that tell you exactly where.

How it works

• Anyone can listen without an account.
• When you upload, you say what you want feedback on: mix, arrangement, vocals, sound design or overall vibe. It helps people give you the feedback you need.
• The Needs ears tab shows tracks that haven't had much feedback yet. Give feedback, and your own tracks get seen more.
• When a comment helps you, mark it Helpful. That's how people earn their reputation here: by helping, not by posting a lot.

Who makes it

We make music ourselves and build Need Ears in Norway. The code is open source on GitHub: github.com/braenden/needears.

Need Ears is free. There are no ads, no paid tiers and no tracking cookies.
