Copyright

Need Ears is for people's own music. If someone has uploaded something they don't have the right to share, let us know and we'll deal with it quickly. We don't scan uploads, so we rely on you.

How to report

The quickest way: use the Report button on the track and pick "Copyright, or not their own work".

For a formal notice, email contact@needears.com with:

  1. What is yours: a description of the work, and proof you own it or act for the owner if you can.
  2. Where it is on Need Ears: the link to the track (or comment).
  3. Why it's a problem: a short explanation of why you believe it is used without permission.
  4. Who you are: your name and email address, and, if you act for someone else, who.
  5. A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized, and that the information in your report is correct.

What happens next

  • If the claim looks likely to be right, we remove or hide the track within 48 hours.
  • We tell the person who uploaded it what was reported and why.

If you uploaded the track and disagree

If your track was removed and you believe that's a mistake, email contact@needears.com with the link and an explanation (for example proof that you made it). We'll review it, tell you and the person who reported, and restore the track if the claim does not hold up.
